The Maas and the adjacent Maesbempdergreend - Mazenhoven nature reserve form the backbone of the Leut hiking area. Maesbempdergreend or Maasbempder Greend is the northern part of Maaswinkel, a natural flood plain or floodplain along the Maas, where Maesbempdergreend is a large pond created by gravel extraction. You can roam freely in the nature reserve. There are several grazers. The Maas borders the nature reserve (there is also a passage) and there are of course also numerous water birds.
