Master builder Pöppelmann was commissioned by August the Strong. In 1722 the construction of the palace complex began. After Napoleon's defeat, it was awarded to Prussia in the Congress of Vienna. Today is owned by the Free State of Saxony.

Very nice complex with castle, park, stables and horse pastures. Worth a walk in any season.
