At this station you will get an insight into the history and naming of the residential area "Steinzeitsiedlung"
A settlement from the Stone Age was excavated in 2005 on the residential area "Stone Age Settlement" that can be seen from here. Thereby 20 floor plans of Stone Age houses were excavated, the width of which was between 5.84 m and 6.37 m. One building was completely exposed and had one Length of 33.60 m.
Furthermore, a 140 m long wall, a striking place for the production of stone tools and a well, which is also interpreted as a cistern for surface water, were excavated. The settlement is between 5100 and 5000 BC.
Dated to the early Neolithic, which is also known as the "Bandkeramik". At this time, a good 7000 years ago, agriculture and cattle breeding began in our region. The people who lived here, who were previously hunters and gatherers, changed their way of life and built houses, grew crops, raised animals, made ceramics and settled in. They laid the foundation for the oldest farming culture in Europe.
Due to the history, the city has chosen the street names with reference to the Stone Age.
