The ruin of the 800-year-old Kommendes Siersdorf still suggests that it was a magnificent building. For 600 years, the facility served as the administrative headquarters and residence for the Knights of the Teutonic Order.
Today it is being restored / repaired and will once host a Documentation Center of the Teutonic Order.

Aldenhoven-Siersdorf in the district of Düren was a base of the Teutonic Order for almost 600 years from 1219. The Renaissance castle built here in 1578 was badly damaged in World War II. However, the total decay of the building could only be stopped by a support association founded in 2001, which has owned the castle ruins since 2012.
