Hiking Highlight
Lüneburg has a brine source with 26% salinity and is used accordingly in the graduation and salü.
The Kurpark is designed in the style of English landscape gardens, with the special feature of a graduation movement. The brine is passed through a network of twigs from top to bottom. This creates a microclimate similar to the ocean beach.A link: lueneburg-erleben.de/de/sehenswert/umgebung/kurpark-lueneburg.htmlThe spa gardens are bordered to the north by the Hotel Seminaris and the Salü, to the east by the Rote Feld and to the west by the Soltauer Straße.Since the Middle Ages the healing power of the brine spring in Lüneburg is known. But only in 1907 the actual spa park was opened. From this time only the Wandelhalle and the graduation house has been preserved. It does not exude the charm of the early 20th century, but the park itself is a nice place to stay.
