Many ponds were also created. A fisherman managed 20 fish ponds. The Fischerhaus was built for him. Designed by the architect Hermann Matthies, known for his local style, it was completed in 1894.

One of the large ponds has several smaller islands in the middle. Ideal breeding ground for grey herons (in the trees), a pair of swans, Canada geese, ducks and rails.
