Kongensgade is a pedestrian street in Odense. The street, which starts in the north at Vestre Stationsvej and ends in the south in the city's second longer pedestrian zone, Vestergade, is home to many shops, restaurants and cafes as well as Fyns Forsamlinghus. The road was built in 1847. The first houses on Kongensgade were intended for residential construction, but towards the end of the 19th century the street was increasingly turning into a commercial street. When there were trams in Odense, one of the main lines ran from the station via Kongensgade to Fruens Bøge. Tram operations ceased in 1952.Source: Wikipedia
