The Yellow Castle is one of the four castles in Heroldsberg. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the rectory of the Protestant parish of St. Matthew and was one of the properties of the Nuremberg patrician family Geuder von Heroldsberg.
The castle was built in the second half of the 16th century by Hieronymus Geuder on the foundations of an older building. Renovations were carried out in the years around 1680, as can be seen from the stucco work in the so-called "garden room". Further renovations were carried out around 1750 by Johann Adam Geuder. He had the former hipped roof replaced with a hipped mansard roof and added more floors to the building. Johann Adam Geuder lived in the castle from 1752 to 1789 and received high-ranking embassies and visitors as Nuremberg's Losunger.
The castle was owned by the Geuder family until the mid-1950s, then by the publisher Karl Borromäus Glock. In 1988 it was renovated again. Wikipedia
