The Black Watch Armory, a Scottish armory, served as the base of the 5th regiment of the "Royal Highlanders of Canada". It was built between 1905 and 1906 and is now part of the National Historic Site of Canada. In 1949 a museum was opened here with exhibits from uniforms, weapons, musical instruments, photographs and documents relating to the history of the regiment, the city and the Canadian armed forces.
