When the Malmedy-Monschau railway was opened, only one stop was planned for the village of Sourbrodt. The first houses were about a kilometer outside the station. But things turned out differently. In 1889, four years after the first Vennzug had entered Sourbrodt, a station was built. He should become a jewel of the time. Today, the bricks above the doors and windows as well as the stucco decorations on the upper part of the gable still refer to the former magnificent building.
