A stone's throw from the penguin fountain is the Adam & Eve garden - framed by hedges and laid out according to strictly geometric floor plans. The secluded garden owes its name to the sculptures it houses.

Almost nothing has changed here for 100 years: Artfully and accurately cut hornbeam hedges with passageways and “windows” form the backdrop for “Adam and Eve” - the two marble sculptures by the Hamburg sculptor Oscar E. Ulmer, which gave this garden its name. Colorful flower beds provide splashes of color between the hedges.

Behind the "hedge wall" two steps lead down into a so-called sink garden, which was also called the flower garden when it was built. In today's garden area between the paths, flowers that change with the seasons used to grow and transform the garden into a colorful sea of flowers.

The hedge garden and the sunken area to the south are enclosed by tall deciduous trees, which give the place seclusion. If you are looking for peace and quiet in the middle of the city, this is the place for you!

High hedges lined formal garden based on English-Italian model in the shade of tall trees. Marble sculptures of "Adam" and "Eva" by Oscar E. Ulmer from 1933, unfortunately recently defaced: the prudery is back.

Small section in the Hamburg city park. Many small cozy corners to sit on
