The granite findling was set up as part of a festive weekend on 18 and 19 October 1913. He recalls the Battle of Leipzig and the victory of the united troops of Prussia, Russia and Austria over Emperor Napoleon I of France. This ended his rule over Germany.

The Battle of Leipzig, fought from October 16 to 19, 1813, was the decisive battle of the Wars of Liberation. It pitted the Allied troops, primarily Russia, Prussia, Austria, and Sweden, against the troops of Napoleon Bonaparte.
This boulder made of Wurmberg granite was erected in 1913 to commemorate the event.
