Hiking Highlight
The Hahnenklee cliffs in the Upper Harz offer a wonderful view over the Oder Valley, in some cases you can look down 200 meters from the cliffs up to 758 meters high. About 800 meters away, at the opposite end of the valley, are the high cliffs on the Rehberg. Anyone planning a long hike can hike from St. Andreasberg over the Rehberger Graben to the Oderteich and hike back past the Hahnenklee cliffs. If you like it shorter, you can start from Königskrug to the cliffs.

The name "Hahnenkleeklippen" has nothing to do with the village Hahnenklee in the Harz, but is derived from "Hahnenkliev", which means "high cliffs".

The short detour from the hiking trail to the cliffs is worthwhile in every season.

Really a great view: the Hahnenklee cliffs are the craggy gable of a 200m high abyss that represents the eastern flank of the Oder valley. The view of the forest is breathtaking!

We were lucky enough to experience the cliff in a thunderstorm, unique light.
Even so, one has a beautiful view from the rugged one.

The Hahnenkleeklippen are stamp 075 of the Harzer hiking needle. The stamp is not directly on the cliff with the benches, but in the refuge just before the path to the cliffs off the main path.

An absolute must for hikes in the Upper Harz / Braunlage. Excellent view from the cliffs over the deeply cut Oder valley, the western and southern Harz mountains with a clear view to the Thuringian Forest.

You will be rewarded with a great view. Also with lots of snow to be recommended.

The Hahnenkleeklippen - actually "high cliffs" - between Braunlage and St. Andreasberg offer a fantastic view of the Rehberg and the Odra valley. The course invites you to a picnic and is easy to reach from the Königskrug car park without great incline.
