The Lindenhof of the Francke Foundations is formed by the main building and other elongated buildings of the foundations. At the eastern end of this Lindenhof stands the man-high bronze monument to August Hermann Francke, created by the well-known German sculptor Christian Daniel Rauch, as a vanishing point. The marble base was built according to a design by Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781 - 1841). The monument, which pays tribute to the founder of the foundations and important theologians and educators August Hermann Francke (1663 - 1727), was inaugurated on November 5, 1829. Originally, the sculpture was supposed to be placed on a public square in the city of Saale, but the Prussian government at the time approved it not to a non-noble person this honor. In 1992 the monument was completely restored.
