The Marienquelle, inaugurated in 1841, is a nice resting place with a refuge on the Goethe hiking trail. About 100 meters further, "seating areas" were created, which offer great views.

Clear mountain spring water invites you to refresh - even to the trunk. The shelter next to the spring provides shelter. Benches invite you to linger. The view wanders over the Bornwiese over to the Kickelhahn, the mountain of the Ilmenauer. Wonderful resting point when strolling through the Ilmenauer hiking area, for example, from the Schöffenhaus direction Waldgasthaus Mönchshof and continue on the Salzmannstraße, an old trade route, up to the Schmücke.
