Since September 1958, the State Chancellery has been housed in an atrium building on Ludwigsplatz in Saarbrücken that was built in the 1950s. Before that, from 1945 to 1948, the headquarters were at Scheidterstrasse 114 and then in Bismarckstrasse in the Villa Rexroth, known as the "white house". The Saarland Museum was later built on the site of the white house.
