The bridge mill lock was built as part of the major project to make the river Saale to Unstrut navigable. Completion of the lock was in the 1790s. In addition to the Beuditzmühlenschleuse and the Herrenmühlenschleuse, it is one of three locks in the Weißenfels urban area. Source: Wikipedia
