When the dike on the Jeetzel Canal was renewed and fortified a few years ago, there was a new dike path for us, which was initially closed to cyclists.
It can now be used and offers a fast connection from Dannenberg to Lüchow.
There are beautiful "eye glimpses" over meadows, fields and forests.
In addition, the ever-exciting world of birds in the Wendland.

Cycling

On both sides of the canal (Neue Jeetzel) there are well-developed dyke branches that can be used wonderfully for cycling or hiking. For example, you can cycle from Dannenberg to Lüchow (and / or back) without having to use the busy roads (the dike paths are closed to motor vehicles, except for agricultural and forestry traffic). If you stay on the northern side of the Jeetzel, you cycle along the Lucie Canal from just before Seerau.
