The quadrilateral was created from a silted-up water in the Georgengarten (UNESCO World Heritage Site Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom). Around 1927, the quadrangular water surface was dug and surrounded by straight lines. The pavilions erected at the corner points have disappeared. A zigzagged slope south of the pond is only visible in the woody vegetation. However, water surface, paths and the birch plantation on a terrace plant east of the pond could be restored. In the course of the renovation, the stairway-related stairs made of washed concrete elements had to be restored or partially renewed. An interesting detail was the curved shape of the large staircase to the east. All three stairs lead directly into the water surface. Settling in the ground and the ravages of time had caused considerable damage to the structures.
The water surface was narrowed by strong Verschilfung last on a narrow watercourse. Due to the deepening of the water and the underground sealing of the embankments, the re-emergence of the reeds should be largely avoided.
