Looking down from the bridge on the northwest side you can see beautiful large Muldelachse standing in the water for most of the year. For these, extra salmon ladders have been set up in recent years at the Jonitzer mill and Muldewehr, so that they can reach the spawning grounds. In Dessau, up to 6,000 salmon were caught annually in the Middle Ages.
