Twelve tombstones and some trees on a part of a mound is all that remains of Vliedorp: a village with a church, thirteen houses and a rectory, called 'weem' in Groningen. The church disappeared at the beginning of the 18th century, followed by the houses and the weem. The Groninger Landscape cherishes this striking spot in the green through careful maintenance.
