Beautiful piece of history, now 100 years old: In 1920, the electric pumping station Waterwolf in the Reitdiep began its important task, the drainage of water from a large part of the province of Groningen and the head of Drenthe. The Waterwolf was unique for its time and is a beautiful piece of industrial heritage. The pumping station is still in operation today. In fact, it plays a key role in the drainage of excess water towards the Wadden Sea.
