    The special thing about this park is the monument of the Asingaborg that once stood in the middle of the park. The monument is in exactly the same location as the deposit and has exactly the same contours. The first mention goes back to the year 1426. At that time the Asinga family lived in the deposit. Due to the invasion of the French at the end of the 18th century, the income rights disappeared and the deposit fell into disrepair and in 1809 the deposit was demolished. With the demolition, a deposit with, among other things, 14 rooms, several cellars and large farmlands disappeared.
    The rubble was used to reinforce dikes that bordered the Lauwerszee. Originally, the deposit was located on a mound, but after the demolition of the deposit, the ground was eventually leveled. (source: dorpsonderzoekulrum.weebly.com/asingapark.html)
