I liked this little church at first sight because the location above Breitbrunn and the beautiful view of the Ammersee is unique.
The real surprise came during the tour: the church was open and could be visited. The main altar and the two side altars are beautiful as you can say about thousands of Bavarian churches, but when I turned around to go outside, this magical moment came: the gallery is sensational!
The following is an excerpt from Wikipedia:
"The wooden gallery was created around 1700. The twelve apostles are depicted on the parapet, the baptism of Jesus in the middle. Most of the apostles can be identified by their attributes or by the captions. The pictures were painted over later and exposed again in 1960 . "

Beautiful view from the hill of the old Breitbrunner village church of St. John the Baptist. Away from the excursions on the lake shore, you can still find some peace and contemplation here. The old graves and the lake in the background make you forget all stress.
