The beautiful mill De Grauwe Beer is located outside the village on the banks of the Meuse. It is completely free and open on Saturday. In front of the mill there is a meadow with picnic tables and there is a parking lot. From Beesel you can reach the mill via an unpaved but leveled Witschaftsweg.
The mill built in Zaandam in 1604 was originally a sawmill. In 1891 she was mined in Zandam and shipped to Beesel. There, the mill was set up as a grain mill. Until the 50s, the mill remained in use until the grinding activity no longer yielded profit. For several years, the mill was not in operation until it was restored in the years 1982-1983 and moved to its present location. Here the mill is back in the wind, which is important for its optimal function. Since then, the mill is back in operation on a voluntary basis.
