The white sand beach Mardorf is located on the northern shore of Germany's largest shallow lake, the Steinhuder Meer. The sandy beach with the large shallow water zone offers space for sunbathing and swimming. Rubber boats and air mattresses are allowed here.
Activities include beach volleyball, pedal boating, trampoline jumping, and a boat trip to Steinhude and the island of Wilhelmstein. For children there is a playground on site and there are several campsites nearby. Surfers can surf 500 meters east on the Steinhuder Meer.
Limited parking is available. Bathing at your own risk!

Thanks to the small depth of the Steinhuder Sea (only 1.35 m on average), the water reaches a pleasant bathing temperature early in the year. The beach white dune also impresses with white sand and a large shallow water area - ideal conditions for carefree bathing pleasure, even for small guests!
From the nearby 180 m long public pier you have a beautiful view of the lake. Wind and kite surfers also benefit from the shallow riparian zones: the neighboring surf beach offers suitable entry points. In good weather you can experience many colorful sails and kites (stunt kites) in action. Due to the good wind conditions on the Steinhuder Meer, international races are also held here.
