Get off your bike here for a moment and follow the wooden boardwalk to Kijkhut Grutto! This perfectly camouflaged wooden hide offers a spectacular and undisturbed view over a water body rich in birds. With a bit of luck, you can see the graceful black-tailed godwit, avocets, or foraging spoonbills up close.
The blue information board at the entrance commemorates TV pioneer and nature advocate Edgar Kesteloot, who helped save this beautiful area. A magical, wind-free resting spot in the middle of the polder!

The bird: the black-tailed godwit is recognizable by its long, straight beak and its rust-brown summer plumage. You can hear it calling its own name: "Godwit-godwit!"
Accessibility: the boardwalk through the reeds is fully accessible and comfortable to walk.
