GP 185 is in the middle of a heathland. From GP183 the border runs in a straight line to the south-west. However, the border used to extend even further to Lommel-Barrière. This line is still clearly visible in the landscape and is now the municipal boundary between Lommel and Neerpelt. From Lommel-Barrière the border then went up again according to a line that is also clearly visible on my map to GP 186. In 1843 a border correction took place here, whereby Bergeijk gave up land to Lommel and from GP 186 Lommel gave up land to Bergeijk. From GP186 the border continued up to a point in Bergeijk-Barrière and then continued west along a line higher than the current border line. Border post 185 is the point of contact between the municipalities of Borkel en Schaft(NL), Bergeijk(NL) and Neerpelt(B) but also LOMMEL (B).
