From the rest bench you have a wonderful view of the pilgrimage church as it nestles in the Lauterach valley. A nice place for a short break and to linger.
According to legend, the Stettkirchen pilgrimage church was built because Emperor Otto II only escaped defeat in 976 with a vow: in the event of his victory, he wanted to build a church on the site of the battle. However, the first written references to the church have only existed since 1391.
