Our walk today took us to the Hohenrasch castle ruins near Rührersberg. No more snow or ice, just wonderfully soft forest floor on the paths, with only occasional traces of heavy vehicles from logging operations. The castle moat and outer bailey are clearly visible and very impressive.

I took another stroll along the old canal near Kettenbach today. There weren't any swans this time, but lots of ducks and coots... and even a great egret. It was lovely, but next time I absolutely have to bring my camera.

In overcast but no longer quite so cold weather, we took a walk today to the Franconian sand dunes near Ernhofen. The forest road was quite icy, but the paths through the woods were wonderful to walk on. I enjoy the view of the sand dunes every time.

A beautiful winter walk in the Lauterach Valley. Walking on the crusted and icy paths was a bit difficult, but the wonderful evening atmosphere made up for it.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so we headed up to Schanzberg near Unterwiesenacker again today. It was simply breathtaking!
PS: I unfortunately turned off Komoot a little too late!

The spring snowflakes were already in bloom, but only a few were flowering – just a couple of snowdrops along the way. We
