Through the Prießnitz Bridge we reach the Prießnitzgrund. The 23 meter high arched bridge once served as the Carola Bridge on Heerstrasse, but today Stauffenbergallee leads over it. The Prießnitzgrund is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Dresden Heath. The Prießnitz is a 25 kilometer long stream that rises near Rossendorf, crosses the Dresden Heath and flows into the Elbe at the Dresden Deaconess Hospital. The name comes from the Slavic “breza” and means birch water.

In the following meters, the stream serves as the western boundary of the Bundeswehr's properties, which today include the Army Officers' School. There are various sculptures and worked sandstone blocks to discover along the stream.
