The blue bridge is the last opportunity to cross the Wupper before Dahlerau and completes the circuit around the Beyenburg reservoir. It was installed in 2016 with some delay as a replacement for the simple predecessor, after having previously stood for over a year in the hiking car park at the Wupper bridge.
(The foundations were ready - one was missing for the mobile crane that lifts them into position!!!)

The round around the reservoir is definitely worth it. From the bridge you have a great view of the lake.

When crossing the bridge there were also 2 horses on the bridge. It fluctuated wonderfully.

A few years ago the bridge at the end of the Wupperstausee was renewed. In spring you can find a swan's nest here.

Still a border river today. During the Corona period, there was an evening curfew on one side, but not on the other.

Blue bridge at the end of the reservoir. A special attraction is the swan's nest next to it, where you can watch the swans breeding every year before they can later be seen with their offspring on the lake.

The term "go over the Wupper" originated here. Whoever crossed the river left the respective principality and thus escaped the jurisdiction of the respective country. Numerous young men avoided military service by "crossing the Wupper".
