The Saint Hilarius Church was built at the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th century.

The church has a heavy Gothic tower built in the 2nd half of the 13th century. The portal dates from 1756 and the bell floor was added in 1808. The church was founded by the lords of Bierbeek as a collegiate church. From 1240 to 1561, the church belonged to the Bierbeek priory, which depended on the Abbey of St. Nicasius in Reims. The church, which until 1797 was managed by the Faculty of Theology of the University of Leuven, became the parish church of Bierbeek when the priory was closed.

Remarkable building from the 12th and 13th centuries, located on a small elevation and surrounded by the cemetery.

Tower with sandstone substructure, erected on the site of an older one: the correct destination cannot be deduced from the excavated foundations; ground floor open wide on the nave, vaulted with heavy cross-rib vaults (1260 and following); facade cladding, classicist portal (at the location of the 13th century entrance) and brick bell floor from around 1784 by Everaert.

Remarkable Romanesque beech on masonry pillars (mid-12th century); tall proportions (current flooring raised by 40 centimeters); wooden ceiling with original bays (restored); preserved Romanesque roof truss; side aisles widened in 1770-1771 by Corthout and extensively restored during a restoration around 1900.
