Park Abbey, just outside Leuven, is a beautiful historic site dating back to the 12th century. This Norbertine abbey was founded in 1129 and is one of the best preserved abbeys in Belgium.
The abbey complex includes a church, monastery buildings, water mill, ponds and an extensive park. The buildings are a mix of Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical styles, offering a unique and rich architectural experience.
The abbey was an important religious and cultural center for centuries. Today the abbey is still inhabited by Premonstratensians and hosts various community activities.

The Norbertine Abbey is a special oasis of peace: an open space with fields, avenues, ponds and meadows that invites you to walk, switch off, relax and dream. But also buildings with history that tell of deep faith and worldly power. Be sure to take a look at the medieval rooms that take you back in time like a time machine! Exhausted by so much history? The Brasserie De Abdijmolen awaits you. The kitchen offers seasonal, classic and contemporary dishes. Every Wednesday between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., Luc Rombouts, one of the most prominent carillon artists ("carillonneur"), plays the so-called "Carillon of Peace". It has been ringing over the Park Abbey's domain since November 11, 2018 and is entirely dedicated to peace and reconciliation. The carillon culture in Belgium is recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.
