The church of Park Abbey towers over the site. Already 2 years after the foundation of the Norbertine abbey in 1129, a Romanesque chapel stood here. In the current church, traces of the 13th century Romanesque church can still be seen. In the 16th and 17th centuries, important changes were made. The church is mainly in classicist white stucco with baroque decorations and elements in faux-marbre. The interior contains baroque statues and furniture with wood carvings and important paintings about the life of Saint Norbert and his great example Christ.Source and more information: visitleuven.be/sint-jan-de-evangelistkerkOpening:Between 1 April and 30 September: Tuesday to Sunday: 13:30-17:00 (except on public holidays)
