Cycling

The sacred building was built as a Romanesque church with two choir-side towers (mid-12th century) and a four-storey west tower (1st half of the 13th century). At the end of the 13th century, the Romanesque building was replaced by a three-aisled, five-bay hall church in the Gothic style. From 1892 to 1894 the church was expanded according to plans by the architect Heinrich Wiethase.

Hiking

Ratingen's most famous church is St. Peter and Paul. The foundations of the early Gothic building date back to the 8th century. The two east towers were built in the 11th or 12th century. The main nave dates mainly from the year 1300. Inside the church, especially the three bells and the tower monstrosity are worth seeing. Sculptures of Baroque equipment are now in the Museum Ratingen.
