Mosterei Möhl

family tradition

The Möhl family was already active in agriculture in the 17th century. In 1895, Hans Georg Möhl founded his own cider factory. He brought the coveted juice to St. Gallen in a horse-drawn carriage.

His wife Elise Möhl sold her home-grown vegetables at the market there.

1940

The Möhl brand is born

Shortly after the outbreak of the Second World War, the first Möhl logo was created, designed by Carl Böckli, the famous caricaturist of the "nebelsplitter".

He thus created the basis for the Möhl brand image to this day. The inn was closed in 1945 and the Möhl family concentrated entirely on the cider factory from then on.

1951

Undeterred, down-to-earth and innovative

Despite severe blows of fate, Ernst Möhl-Forster always looks ahead. Immediately after the fire in the pomace drying plant in 1951, which destroyed the barn, he immediately had the press building rebuilt.

Even when his first wife Klara Möhl-Müller died in 1957, he overcame his grief thanks to numerous projects. Up until his untimely death in 1975, the innovative doer kept adapting his business to the latest requirements.
