And into the woods I go to lose my mind and find my soul ... 🏕🥾🏔
Today we drove with the Regio to Wendisch Rietz and started our winter hike to Beeskow from there. The route is not very wooded and runs mostly on bike paths in the first section to Glienicke along the B246 and then across the fields. Therefore, from our point of view, it is not necessarily a highlight in summer and is more suitable for fast cycling. But today the monotonous field landscape and the bitumen bike paths had disappeared under a thick blanket of snow. And so the tour had its very special charm.

Today, due to lack of time, it was a little bit smaller round the Great Oelsener See. Unfortunately, it was not clear to us when planning that we were in the heart of the African swine fever area. First, a hunter we met told us that yesterday three wild boars were redeemed from their suffering very close by. A little later a forester stopped us and explained that we weren't actually allowed to walk through there and said a few more things on the subject. Therefore, we mostly stayed on bike or forest paths on our tour and did not go deeper into the forest towards the lake. Otherwise, as usual, not a single soul was around and we had the forest almost all to ourselves.

Anett had the right nose again! Before we would have walked in cloudy soup yesterday, it would be better to trust the weather forecast for a change and go on a wonderful winter hike today. Since we didn't want to move the car, we took the regional train to Müllrose and from there walked past the Müllros Lake to Mixdorf and on to Beeskow. After we left Lake Garbage Rose behind us, we were all alone and only saw a rabbit and a few deer. It's indescribable how beautiful and quiet it was on the way.

Before our fur nose no longer wants to go outside the door because of the bang, we took a short tour of the surrounding area. Unfortunately, Junior didn't want to go back through the forest, but on the bike path on the main road. Well, there are really nicer things. But whatever, the main thing is outside ...

After the big meal over the Christmas holidays, we were very happy and really happy to finally run off a few calories from the holidays in our Brandenburg forests today. We started in Beeskow and walked on the east side of the Spree to Raßmannsdorf. There we crossed the Spree and on the other side we walked past Radinkendorf back to Beeskow. The weather was perfect with 1 ° C and a slightly overcast sky and of course the forest paths were easy to walk on. So nothing exciting, just get out into nature and hike. No more and no less!
