Petelinjsko Lake is the lowest lying lake of all 17 lakes, so the water stays in it the longest, even up to 6 months. The depth of the lake reaches an average of 12 meters and covers an area of 0.74 km2, which ranks it second in size among the Pivka intermittent lakes.

At any time of year the magic of this second largest of the Pivka 17 Disappearing Lakes is all around you.. a natural theatre of silence and green.
