A plane has crashed on Domain Kiewit. Or so it seems. The wreckage of a World War II scout is part of a 2.5-kilometer trail that aims to discover both the history and the vastness of the petting zoo.

The plane was shot down over Houffalize during WWII. The fighter pilot managed to escape alive from the wreckage. At the risk of his own life, the resistance hid him in the attic of Kiewit's castle.

This place refers to a story from WWII, how the American pilot John E. Ault crashed in Houffalize and fled to our region. He went into hiding in Kiewit castle. Regardless of the story, this is a beautiful place anyway. Small ponds, lots of vegetation and winding paths that guide you through, so you don't get wet feet. These lead to a clearing, a meadow, with a lonely tree in the middle.
