The ascent requires a shaken measure of fitness. Older semesters should take their time. The hardest part is the narrow spiral staircase right at the beginning, later the step heights are more comfortable and you have more space for those who are approaching. My last ascent is loosely 30 years back, and even then I was very warm.

Hildesheim's St. Andrew's Church is a Lutheran church dedicated to the apostle Andrew. This Gothic-style church has a tower of 114.5 meters, making it the highest church tower in Lower Saxony.
At least before the year of bishop Bernward's death in 1022, a pre-Romanesque chapel dedicated to Andrew stood on the site of the current church. In the Romanesque period, the market is moved from the Oude Markt near the Michaeliskirche to the field near the chapel. The small chapel is then replaced by a Romanesque church. Only the westwork of this church now remains. The Gothic church started at the end of the fourteenth century. The choir was completed in 1389. However, the tower was not completed until the end of the nineteenth century.
