Hedwigsburg Palace was a pleasure palace built in 1578 in Kissenbrück, in what is now the Wolfenbüttel district. It was built for Hedwig of Brandenburg, wife of Julius, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, and later served as a summer residence and, for a time, the residence of the Dukes of Brunswick. It was sold in the 18th century and became part of the still-existing Hedwigsburg Manor. The original buildings no longer exist. The estate was divided in 1948 and is privately owned. Official maps and the street directory list the western part as Hedwigsburg Manor and the eastern part as Kissenbrück Manor. The farms are used for agricultural purposes and as residences. Several ponds still exist, and the park is largely natural, with the eastern part resembling a forest. Sculptures, memorial stones, and the remains of a dog cemetery can still be seen there.
