the Bungenstedter mill was built in 1877 by order of the miller August Scholkemeyer. Finally, until 1956, the mill was operated with a diesel engine when there was a lack of wind.

In 1983 the Association for the Preservation of the Bungenstedter Mill was founded and the object was extensively restored. In 2021, the old wings were replaced with new ones.
