The Sacred Heart Cathedral (Bosnian Katedrala Srca Isusova) is a Roman Catholic episcopal church in the Stari Grad district of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo. The Sacred Heart Cathedral is a neo-Gothic basilica with a semicircular choir in the north and a double-towered portal facade with a rose window in the south. The furnishings with white marble sculptures and stained glass windows full of figures have largely been preserved in their original form.
The Sacred Heart Cathedral was built from 1884 to 1889 according to plans by the Croatian architect Josip Vancaš for the newly founded Archdiocese of Sarajevo.
A comprehensive restoration of the cathedral, made possible through the efforts of Aachen pastor Heribert August, was completed in 2013.
