All that remains of the moated castle in Vehlefanz is a ruined tower and the heaped Botscheberg. The water castle, a so-called tower hill castle, was located on this mound in the 14th century. The former moat is only rudimentary to be recognized by the alder vegetation. The trench was filled in in 1897. A possible lord of the castle, judging by documents, was Burchard von Vehlefanz.
