The much-vaunted "Mediterranean" character of the goose is also mainly just advertising: the service tree is native, the French rock maple is widespread along the Nahe, Moselle and Middle Rhine, and the ash-leaved dittany is at home throughout southern Germany.
What remains is a wonderfully stony, dry landscape with sparse and small vegetation - isn't that enough?
