A beautiful work of art referencing the legendary Reynard the Fox.
The sculpture "Reinard - Pilgrim and Tower Keeper" is by Antoine Damen, after Reynard the Fox, who, according to legend, found his permanent residence here.
The sculpture represents Mercator Island, named after the brilliant philosopher and cartographer Gerardus Mercator. The island is dominated by the Graventoren (Graven's Tower), a brick tower built as a hunting lodge on the ruins of the 13th-century moated castle.
