The Geiersnest / Gerstenhalmeck is actually a hiking car park at 820 m altitude and as a racing bike track rather a secret! The trail parking lot is located about 10 km as the crow flies from Freiburg and can only be reached by car from Ortisei.

Low-traffic side street, if you turn to Kaltwasserhof, the slope is pithy, but you get the best paved to Eduardshöhe, from where you also on paved route via Horben back to Freiburg. If a neatly gravelly forest road does not deter you, you can also dangle the Schauinsland directly from the Eduardshöhe.
