A Perleberg post office was built in the 17th century at the intersection of several fixed postal routes. After the station was expanded several times, this building was built as an imperial post office between 1894 and 1896. In 1899, a telephone exchange was set up, which was housed in a new building in 1925. In 1987, the post office building was honored on a Deutsche Post stamp.
