The blacksmith's trade is one of the oldest trades in Rammenau. In addition to many other existing blacksmiths such as the court smithy or the bush smithy, Rammenau farmers built their own cooperative smithy on the floodplain in 1763. The blacksmith's trade was carried out there for 150 years. Since 2010, the property has housed, among other things, the tourist information office, a true-to-original block room and the community library. Over the years, a lovingly designed herb garden has emerged in the forge's yard.
